"Humans simultaneously combine tenderness and violence. If you peel back the face of a beautiful woman, you see it is clogged with viscera. Choosing to create work that is only beautiful feels artificial. Thus I paint both. You cannot sever the two. The expression that results is a natural chaos. In my work I project chaos, anarchy, anxiety, the grotesque, the absurd, and the irrational. By doing so, I attain harmony. This is my art" - Daisuke Ichiba

#FourMoreYears (II)

#FourMoreYears (I)
"I believe we can seize this future together because we are not as divided as our politics suggests. We're not as cynical as the pundits believe. We are greater than the sum of our individual ambitions, and we remain more than a collection of red states and blue states" - Barack Obama

Waiting
"There are at least 400 people in line ahead of me at my polling station. My first reaction, "crap, I'm going to be so late to work (already had a late star)"; then it hit me (thankfully about 30 seconds later) this is beautiful to see so many people coming out to exercise their right... indeed awesome. I hope the lines remain this long all day!" - Katherine Bates

Choice
"The President has achieved a run of ambitious legislative, social, and foreign-policy successes that relieved a large measure of the human suffering and national shame inflicted by the Bush Administration. Barack Obama has renewed the honor of the office he holds" - The New Yorker

Reasons
"We asked 30 talented artists and designers to each create one poster describing their reason to reelect President Obama. In another year when direction of this country seems so fragile, we are hoping that we can contribute with design in some measure. We all have the ability to speak up, to stand up, to impact the course of this country" - Chris Thomas & Julia Thomas
